Who are we?
T.O.Y.A is a non-profit organization designed to teach the public about youth awareness. In order to help the adolescent mind, grow and stay socially involved as they build confidence and self-esteem within themselves.
T.O.Y.A's purpose is to aid today's youth in becoming more aware socially, economically, politically and in all areas that affect children's emotional growth and development in today's society. We want to teach children helpful coping skills for dealing with the changes that they experience in everyday life. Our objective is for youth to become more connected and aware of the world around them and create a safe space for youth to socialize.
Nurturing one mind at a time!
Mission Statement:
Here at T.O.Y.A, our mission is to build a social connection amongst today's youth by providing; nutritional meals outside of school hours, age based emotional support activities, and also including parents and siblings in group counseling to help them with their emotional development and coping skills. We aim to reach our youth outside of a computer or electronic screen and through personal interactions and meaningful connections.

Our Founder:
Ms. Demondria Jefferson
Demondria J. is a mother of 5 beautiful daughters, 1 handsome son, and 3 lovely grandkids. Originally from Texarkana, TX, she now currently resides in Rowlett, TX and has a degree in medical assisting as well as 15+ years of security experience. Ms. Jefferson is the owner of On Guard Security Services located in Dallas TX ensuring that safety is a priority in and outside her own home.
Becoming a mother at an early age she knew that one day she would like to provide children with the opportunity to feel loved and have a safe space to relax and enjoy. It took some time, but she was determined to put her love and thought into creating this adventurous social club for the youth, for free.
In her youth Ms. Jefferson experienced tragedy as her best friend LaToya Grissom went missing in Texarkana and to this day she is still classified as a missing person. This incident spurred Demondria in her quest to protect children and the youth in her community. Ms. Jefferson came up with this idea to name the organization after her lost friend to prevent other children from being lost and forgotten.
Introducing to the world, TOYA!
Our Programs:
Tutoring
We will offer after school tutoring at our center(s) for the kid that need a little helping hand. We will aid in all subjects taught from elementary to high school, including prep test for college entrance exams.
Big Brother/ Big Sister
Our peer-based mentor program is a way to help the younger children develop intrapersonal skills, emotional problem solving, and social bonding. While also in this process the high school mentors can earn community service hours toward college and extra curriculars.
Free after school and summer meals!
Our nutrition program helps the kids to learn basic life skills such as prepping, cooking, and distributing food to themselves and their peers. They are also learning to build bonding skills amongst themselves as well as teach them responsibility, safety, food knowledge, and hard work.
Socializing
Make friends outside of a classroom setting! T.O.Y.A helps children reach outside their boundaries and social comfort zones in order to obtain friendships/ relationships across diverse background. Here at T.O.Y.A we will have fun peer inclusive activities and games designed to teach children how to socialize and develop intrapersonal relationships in their lives.

Free Counselling Services!!
With mental health awareness on the rise; we hope to connect with our youth on a more emotional and thoughtful level. Our center programs are designed to help youth connect with their inner feelings. We want children to be able to express their feelings without fear of judgment. Being able to express themselves freely and socialize with their peers promotes self-confidence. We encourage group counseling for the parents/guardians and siblings as a way to bring balance amongst the children and their older influencers. Our main focus is to tap into the minds of our youth and to let them know that there is help if they ever need it. Our counselors prepare social games and activities for the children everyday that will teach them social awareness and coping skills. We want children to feel comfortable so that they may build trusting relationships with the staff and each other. Our goal is for our centers to provide the youth with coping skills to redirect their minds and become great problem solvers for themselves and their betterment, and hopefully encourage their peers to do the same. We all want our children to make good decisions and lead by example because Great Leaders Create A Better Future!
